The "Controversial" Trend Fashion People Are Wearing Nonstop This Autumn

Though the advent of autumn isn't typically one to incline you reach for you shortest shorts, there seems to be something in the air this season that's encouraging our favourite celebrities to do exactly that.

Maybe the emergence of the micro-short is the natural retort to the jorts trend that dominated the summer months, or perhaps the trend has caught on as an alternative way to layer now that tights weather has returned. Whatever the culprit, we're spotting micro-shorts here, there and everywhere this fashion month.

Emma Corrin wore full Miu Miu to Venice International Film Festival in September.

Emerging in head-to-toe Miu Miu at the 80th Venice International Film Festival this September, Emma Corrin styled their micro-shorts with a tonal khaki cardigan layered on top of a white layering top and black semi-sheer tights. The actor styled their look with a black Miu Miu handbag and patent leather buckle loafers for the occasion.

Only weeks later actor and director Olivia Wilde embraced the divisive trend styling another tonal look in a classic autumnal shade to the Michael Kors Collection 2024 Runway Show in New York on Monday.

Olivia Wilde styled brown micro-shorts to the Michael Kors fashion show during New York Fashion Week.

Wearing her micro-shorts with a matching brown slim-fitting jumper, and brown knee high boots, Wilde accessories with a brown fringed handbag and black Rayban sunglasses.

Wearing her down with a subtle wave, she parted her locks in the middle for an effortless take on fashion week dressing.

Perhaps kicking off the divisive trend was Kendall Jenner, who in November of last year sported the style whilst out on a walk in L.A.

Also opting to style her shorts with a monochrome looks, the model wore opaque tights with black slingbacks and a black jumper—which she wore on top of a white layering top.

Do it like the celebs and show winter that you're not giving in by styling the micro-shorts trend well past the summer months.
