Skinny jeans are back, people. That's right, 2020 is seeing the full-on return of the silhouette after it took a backseat to cropped flares, bootcut and straight-leg jeans for the past couple of years. Personally, I don't wear skinny jeans very often, but I always keep a pair stashed in my wardrobe (Topshop Joni's, if you're asking). They're a classic wardrobe staple, really, much like a Breton top or a black blazer. While those of us in fashion might have shunned them, there's one woman who has always embraced this jeans style, and that is Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex just wore a pair of skinny jeans for her first appearance in Canada since breaking news that she was stepping back as a senior royal. Meghan visited Justice for Girls, a charity in Canada, and opted for a low-key outfit, wearing skinny jeans with a pair of quilted brown flat boots. She also opted for a chunky cable-knit jumper and a classic black leather tote. We haven't seen her wearing skinny jeans as much since she became a royal, but perhaps her shift in duties will see a return to her casual staples.
