J.Crew Hired a 4-Year-Old Girl to Design Their Next Collaboration

You might remember a little girl from Ohio named Mayhem who became an Internet sensation last February for designing wildly elaborate paper dresses. It seems that was only the start for the creative four-year-old, as she’s just been announced as the designer of an exclusive capsule collection for J.Crew’s kids line, Crewcuts. The nine-piece collection includes clothing and accessories, and is set to debut this spring.

Scroll down to check out Mayhem’s trip to J.Crew headquarters where she designed the adorable collection and met with Jenna Lyons.

Mayhem creates a t-shirt design using two of her favorite materials: jewels and glue.

Mayhem, with her dad, watches the construction of one of her designs by Fukuji Honda, J.Crew's longtime patternmaker.

Mayhem used gold gift-wrapping tape for the stripes when designing this dress.

Mayhem puts the finishing touch on model Gia’s outfit: a neon sparkly necklace.
