If You Hate Compliments, Don't Wear These 5 J.Crew Outfits
New arrivals and chic winter looks.
I'm a fashion editor who loves to receive compliments, and lately, I've noticed my most complimented outfits always include a J.Crew piece. Whether it's ballet flats, tailored denim, or an oversize sweater, the praise follows the label. As I prepare for winter layers, I thought I'd upgrade my wardrobe with a well-timed shopping spree. J.Crew just released plenty of chic new arrivals, from vintage-inspired roll-necks to designer-looking accessories.
During my shopping trip, I noted the J.Crew outfits I'd like to wear this winter. Spoiler: lots of chunky knits, barrel-leg pants, and affordable suede. Scroll to see which ones made my list.
5 Chic J.Crew Outfits for Winter 2026
1. Roll-Neck Sweater + Barrel Jeans
You can never go wrong with a J.Crew roll-neck. It's a classic, and this one's inspired by a vintage silhouette. Style it with jeans and a pop of red to turn heads.

2. Collared Sweater + Pleated Skirt
I can always count on J.Crew for subversive prep. This tipped-collar sweater and pleated plaid skirt with a suede bomber and pumps make for an effective contrast I can support.

3. Bomber Jacket + Corduroy Trousers
A bomber jacket, a button-down, and corduroy trousers create a low-effort, high-reward look. Be warned: Compliments are guaranteed.

4. Tweed Jacket + Calf-Hair Clutch
Evening jackets and tweed blazers are garnering extra attention. Perhaps it has something to do with the recent Dries Van Noten and Chanel collections. This cropped single-breasted jacket from J.Crew will look right at home in a fashion person's closet.

5. Long Barn Jacket + Fair Isle Sweater
A Fair Isle sweater is high up on my winter-wardrobe wish list. As evidenced in this everyday look, the chunky knit pairs perfectly with a plaid overcoat and barrel-leg jeans.
