Suddenly, Leather Bomber Jackets Are Trending Hard—Here Are 10 of My Favourites
For some, the smell of chai and pumpkin conjures up all the autumn feels, for others it’s the return of beanies and knee-high boots. For me, it’s reaching into my wardrobe and feeling in my bones that it’s time to bring out my favourite leather jacket. We’re currently in that time of the year when it’s too warm for a proper coat, yet a little too chilly (depending on the day) to go without anything on our arms. During this strange time, the Who What Wear UK team can seen sporting oversized blazers, trench coats, and more recently, sturdy leather jackets.
Although many leather jacket silhouettes are still relevant and timeless, we're noticing that more and more celebrities are opting for a bomber shape in a distressed-leather finish as their outerwear of choice.
This week, Hailey Bieber emerged wearing an oversized leather bomber with a graphic white tee, orange shorts and trainers. Keeping her accessories to a minimum, Bieber styled her casual ensemble with sleek, black sunglasses and gold jewellery.
Rihanna is a pioneer of the trend, time and again swapping a coat for an oversized leather bomber. In true RiRi style, she went all in on this occasion, styling her leather bomber with leather trousers and shoes.
Outside of the celebrity sphere, distressed leather bomber jackets were noted all over the Danish capital during Copenhagen Fashion Week. As the weather remained unsavoury, show-goers opted for leather jackets to shield them from the rain.
From Acne to The Attico, high-end stores have gotten the memo, offering chic versions in both fitted and oversized styles. Across the high street, brands such as Urban Outfitters and Mango have caught on too, so whatever your price range, shop our favourite leather bomber jackets below.
