Kate Middleton Just Replaced Diamonds With These $15 Gold Hoops From ASOS
Despite what her 12-carat sapphire engagement ring might make you believe, Kate Middleton doesn’t always opt for the crème de la crème of jewelry. Sometimes, like us, she prefers to wear baubles that are a tad more on the accessible side. At least, that’s what she chose on Tuesday. The Duchess of Cambridge threw on a pair of under-$15 gold hoops with an eye-catching red sweater-skirt duo and caramel-colored accessories to give a speech at the BAFTA headquarters in London. Specifically, she wore 14-karat gold-plated twist-hoop earrings from ASOS that are somehow still in stock—for now.
This isn’t the first time that Middleton has dabbled in ASOS’s jewelry section. In fact, it isn’t even the first time she’s worn these exact earrings. In May, the duchess styled the chunky, twisted hoops with a red-and-black Alessandra Rich collared dress and black Jennifer Chamandi pumps for an event at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.
Just like last time, Middleton styled her go-to hoops with a bold shade of red on Tuesday. For her speech, she paired a simple red turtleneck with a matching midi-length, pleated skirt from Christopher Kane. With the monochrome ensemble, she wore light-brown Ralph Lauren pumps and a similarly colored DeMellier top-handle bag, which Middleton has been spotted carrying recently. We love a duchess who recycles.
