Olivia Palermo, Tamu McPherson, and Leandra Medine are all fans of the Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz. And for those not familiar with her label, it’s quite simple to see why fashion girls are obsessed. The line is known for its signature ruffle feature—a flirty, sartorial wink that’s a welcome divergence from the super-minimal trend that's taken over at the moment, yet it’s just the right amount of over the top so that its pieces can be worn every day. Now the brand who’s flooded our Instagram feeds is launching into a new realm: swimwear.
Playing off the inspiration of “Caribbean delicacies,” says the brand in its press release, the collection of bikinis and one-pieces is, as expected, very vacation-ready. And it's not just because they're bright and beachy. But the styles—each of which features some variation of the oversize ruffle—are kind of a blend between what you'd wear in the waves and what you'd wear to dinner. In other words, they're too pretty not to pair with a maxi skirt or high-waisted pant for a fancier affair after you've left the shore.
>Johanna Ortiz's swimwear will debut with her Pre-Fall 17 collection, but you can pre-order the styles now on Moda Operandi. Scroll down for our favorites.
