French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus clearly has an eye for style. Just last season we were wowed by his A/W 17 collection that saw structure, tailoring, voluminous sleeves, nipped corseted waists, ruching, playful polka dots, and large buttons (it was worn by basically every fashionable girl on the planet). This spring, we're seeing a completely new side to the label with a completely revamped and sexy take on dressing. The fashion crowd is calling it "Fashion Week’s sexiest show". And with good reason.
The stand-out look from the collection was a thigh skimming mini dress with a low back, in a slightly sheer fabric. We can imagine Victoria Beckham circa 1997 would've loved it. We've also noticed a few other trends that we're predicting will be huge this spring: Playful mismatched earrings, printed and brightly coloured sarongs, and lastly, the stand-out accessory of the show, the most minuscule top-handle bag we've ever seen. If this collection doesn't make you want to take a holiday by the sea, we don't know what will. We expect French girl Jeanne Damas and model Emily Ratajkowski (both guests at the show) will be wearing these pieces first.
Keep scrolling to see the trends we're loving from the Jacquemus Spring 2018 collection.
Whether it's bold colours or statement gold, mismatched large earrings have never looked so good.
A flattering choice for a cover-up, the sarong is back for round two. We're also loving the continuation of the polka dot trend.
Tiny Tote Bags
The smaller the better; we can't get enough of the tiny accessory.
