Sienna Miller and Countless Fashion People Love Gucci's Latest Anti-Trend Pieces

When Alessandro Michele closed down Hollywood Boulevard late last year to showcase Gucci’s S/S 22 Love Parade collection, I had an inkling it might be good. Did I think it was going to be one of the most understated, wearable Gucci collections I’ve seen in years? No, probably not. But the Italian house is not really known for its predictability.

Yes, there were celebrities in loud outfits lining the front row (hello, Sienna Miller in sequins), and even familiar faces walking down the runway. And of course, with 115 looks in total, there were a few feathers, sparkles and lace pieces. (It is Gucci, after all.) But despite the glamorous L.A. location and extravagant Old Hollywood atmosphere, when I actually got to dissecting the collection after it started dropping recently, the individual pieces have a really timeless, classic appeal—most with a chic nautical twist that’s perfect for transitioning from summer to early autumn. Think camel, check and navy blazers; white tailored shorts; denim dresses and simple black swimsuits, with plenty of the heritage horsebit motif thrown in for good measure.

These are hero pieces you’ll look forward to pulling out every summer as well as some you’d be able to enjoy wearing all year round. Keep scrolling, and you’ll find links to shop my favourite elevated picks from the Gucci Love Parade collection.
