31 Items I'd Put on My Holiday Wish List If I Didn't Already Have Them
If you're on the same side of TikTok as I am, you've probably seen the trend where people share “things I’d put on my holiday wish list if I didn’t already have them.” In other words: tried-and-true favorites that are so good and so worth it that you’d happily ask for them again.
As an editor, I test a lot of products, and outside of work, I just genuinely love to shop. I’ve been selective about what I buy for as long as I can remember, so when I actually love something, it says a lot. This trend got me thinking about the things I reach for every day—the elevated, practical pieces I’d confidently repurchase or be delighted to receive as a gift. Many come from brands like Camper, Chanel, Parachute, and Rōz, and all have my seal of approval.
Below, a curated selection of the fashion, beauty, and home items I’d put on my holiday wish list if I didn't already have them.
I hadn’t worn foundation for many years before recently trying the Chanel Les Beiges, recommended by Associate Director of Special Projects Kristen Nichols. Most foundations felt too heavy on my skin, and there’s nothing I hate more than feeling makeup sitting on top of my face. This one feels lightweight—it passes my “I can’t even feel I’m wearing it” test. I have combination skin, so it’s not too shiny, doesn’t melt off, and it’s noncomedogenic, so it doesn’t clog my pores.
If you, like me, are mesmerized by the lip combinations makeup artist Nina Park creates on her celebrity clients—like Mia Goth and Lily-Rose Depp—this is for you. She’s said to use the Chanel lip liner in shade 162 Nude Brun.
Lip products make perfect stocking stuffers. Honestly, if I ever received a stocking filled only with them, that would be a dream. For lip stains, I love the Wonderskin shades Whimsical, Lovely, and Charming. For more of a lip liner–style stain, I recommend the Covergirl Outlast Lip Stain in Sugey Girl or Natural Blush.
I always get asked what this product is whenever I apply this lip oil. The Black Honey legacy endures for a reason—it gives the perfect flush of color. It’s available as a lip gloss and in the original lipstick version as well. I love the Dior Lip Glow Oil Hydrating High-Shine Gloss in Mahogany too.
Celisse is the new nail polish brand every fashion and beauty person I know is into right now. After seeing them doing manicures backstage at Sandy Liang’s NYFW show, I knew I wanted to try it. I have The Full Set, but you can also get The Essential Set for $84 or single polishes for $20.
What can I say—nice hand soap never gets old. I’ve been loyal to the classic Aesop, but I’d love to try one from Non-Fiction as well.
This duo is incredible. I like using the thick balm at night during winter, when my legs tend to get drier. I also have the Lanolin Lip Elixir from this brand, which I use before bed.
I love the D.S. & Durga candles as well. This one is from its collaboration with Violet Grey. According to the website, "This candle imagines an Upper East Side soiree in the 1960s and ’70s, where art-world gossip in the living room gives way to powder-room secrets. The heart is a modern violet, layered with polished leather and a trail of cigarette smoke; there’s a lipstick note, too, because a touch-up is in order. The name is a provocation—for what exactly, you’ll have to go there to find out."
Another fragrance we know and love: Delina Exclusif. The important part? I usually don’t like floral scents, so the fact that I enjoy this one says a lot. The top notes are pear, lychee, and grapefruit; the heart is rosa Damascena, incense, and vetiver; and the base is vanilla, musk, and evernyl. If you feel nervous about gifting a full-size bottle of something, you could even do a gift card or samples from Scent Split or Luckyscent.
I finally caved. I accepted that I live on the East Coast and bought my first pair of adult Uggs. I’d avoided them for years because they reminded me of middle school, but here’s the thing: Most of our editors own a pair in different silhouettes, and they’re known for being comfortable for a reason.
This year, I finally got a pair of over-ear headphones, and I’ll never go back to flying without them. Even living in NYC, I love having them for my train commute to and from work. If you’re up for splurging, I've heard the Apple ones are worth it.
