Lately, I’ve been stuck in a bit of a style rut, and now I’m more than ready for a new-season refresh. Anyone else feeling the same? Let me be clear...I’m not looking to completely overhaul my wardrobe, but I do want a dose of fresh inspiration. So, I’ve decided to put together a minimalist shopping list and build from there.
My style naturally leans towards clean, pared-back pieces. I tend to gravitate towards a muted colour palette and classic silhouettes. This time around, though, I want to update my capsule with a few thoughtfully chosen additions that will breathe new life into what I already own. Thankfully, so many of my favourite brands are offering plenty of options that work with this approach, many of which have already earned a spot on my minimalist wish list.
I’ve also started to notice a few clear gaps when getting dressed over the past couple of months, namely, the kind of reliable basics that make everything else feel effortless. Think a simple T-shirt or a pair of comfortable flats. If you’re wondering how I’ve managed without them, the truth is I’ve spent most of my life perpetually overdressed, so my wardrobe naturally leans towards dresses and blouses. (For context, I own exactly three pairs of jeans.)
While I’m not looking to change my style entirely, I have put together a considered new-season shopping list made up of pieces I genuinely feel drawn to. At the top of that list is a longer-sleeved, languid white tee with a subtle scoop neck—I’ve realised a boxy crew simply doesn’t suit me—as well as comfortable heeled sandals, a capacious bowling bag that can handle my everyday essentials (read: everything but the kitchen sink), and a pair of supple flats.
I’m also on the hunt for a knee-length pencil skirt with belt loops (I did say I was being specific), along with a few new jewellery additions—because some things never change. This time, though, I find myself gravitating towards silver.

If there's one piece that's missing in my handbag collection, it's a large bowling bag silhouette with enough space to fit my laptop. Enter, DeMellier Stockholm handbag. This style features inner compartments and a sumptuous leather finish that has proven popular.
The flouncy silhouette and see-through element lend this a directional feel. There are only a few units left but it's worth talking about as an example of excellence on the high street.
My footwear capsule is missing a heeled ballerina and COS has excelled with this gloved fit. It will pair beautifully with skirts and jeans and make a great transitional shoe.
Another thing that's lacking in my wardrobe is a longline leather jacket and I've realised the specificities of what I'm searching for. The style that best suits me is a refined silhouette that's cut close to the body and without plackets, bulky pockets and hardware. The Eames style is buttery soft and bears an unwavering, timeless appeal.
I'm taking note from Matthieu Blazy and having fun with fashion this season. The easiest way to do that is with accessories and between the shell stud and vintage-style tassels, these Julietta earrings are certainly joy-inducing.
This season, I'm after a relaxed t-shirt and this linen number by Mint Velvet looks like the perfect fit. I first saw it styled on Monikh, which confirmed it was just the shape I was looking for.
I'm counting down the days until I can wear heeled sandals again and Neous' Motha sandals have piqued my interest. The barely-there straps and slip-on feature feel inherently French, which I'm more than partial to. Neous creates refined silhouettes and ergonomic heels to ensure optimal comfort.
The time is nigh for a lightweight jacket and Rixo's Jonah jacket fits the profile. The delicate jacquard fabrication offers intrigue, which will make your classic jeans and t-shirt outfit interesting.
Picture this suede midi skirt with a classic t-shirt (like the one in this edit) and slip-on heeled sandals and there you have an easy-to-wear spring outfit.
This month, I've been up close and personal with Métier's arsenal and I'm pleased to report that the handbags are even more impressive in the flesh. The brand was concieved with functionality at the forefront, which you might not expect, as the bags are luxurious and fashion-forward. Take the Private Eye tote, for example. It comprises several hidden compartments, including an interior dashboard, where you can store pens, cards, accessories and even a removable pouch that you can wear on its own.
Sézane's spring/summer collection is one of my favourite drops yet and I think these ballet flats will prove popular. This year, the brand is reportedly leaning into modern shapes, as demonstrated by the scrunched detailing and gloved fit on the Irina flats. I'm in the market for ballet flats and these may or may not be on their way to my home address. If last year's mesh ballet flats are anything to go by, these will be exceptionally comfortable, too.
This season is all about layering and while you may be thinking it’s time to shrug off knits, there’s still some winter chill in the air. OMHU’s Møn poncho is perfect for the days when you need warmth but want to venture outdoors without outerwear. Crafted from a luxe 100% British wool, it’s guaranteed to keep you warm and it's an investment for years to come. It's also a great piece to pack for travel, as transits are always chilly.
The scarf and cape trend may just be my favourite trend of the last few years and I was looking for a way to carry this style into spring. Lablon's Cape Blouse makes getting dressed up easy with a wraparound double layered top.
I fell for a few DÔEN pieces during Paris Fashion Week and although the brand is best known for its whimsical cotton styles, it's worth keeping your eye on the silk numbers too. This style will sit well with basic tops and heeled sandals.

Marlie's Grace is one of my favourite brands of 2026, thus far. While I learnt about the brand in 2025, this year I've tested the brand's Ivy top and I've fallen for the vintage shapes and the quality of their pieces. The Gigi dress is next on my wishlist. I envision wearing it with slicked back hair, mules and sparkling studs.
Speaking of newness, I've also found myself gravitating to silver, which is a revelation as I've worn gold jewellery my whole life. I had my eye on a specific type of earring and I found it on Agmes NYC. The drop studs are the perfect amount of glamour for the everyday.
I'm leaning towards knee-length skirts and the French brand Alfie has a wonderful contender. The skimming fit is inspired by French women's preferred silhouettes and it features a belt loop, which makes it feel modern. I may have found a new staple piece in my wardrobe. When it comes to styling, I'd add a fitted crew neck t-shirt to complete the pared-back look.
Lately, I've been coveting accesories and I'm turning to my reading glasses to bring a unique touch to my outfits. Typically, I opt for bigger frames but something is tempting about a smaller, 90s frame to match my minimalist wares. I already own the Emmy sunglasses, so I know I'll love the glasses version.
I take reference from French women when it comes to all things fashion, especially footwear. These slip on mules will be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. Between the darling buckle and fucntional heel, it's a minimalist's dream.
