Forget Flip-Flops—Cool Girls in L.A. Just Named the Official Shoes of Summer 2026
Out in Los Angeles, every It girl, from Addison Rae to Devon Lee Carlson, is currently shopping at the Gimaguas pop-up. Just take a look at the comment section on the Spanish brand's Instagram, and you'll realize that everyone who isn't there is extremely jealous. There also seems to be a particular shoe style everyone has their eyes on.
Gimaguas is known for making the kind of breezy clothing you'd want to be photographed wearing in Spain. This, of course, is fitting since the brand was founded by twin sisters from Barcelona. Everything it makes just has a ethereal, cool feel to it. The brand's shoe selection is no different.

Both Carlson and Rae were wearing strappy wedge sandals, and the style is set to become one of the most popular shoe trends of the summer. They look like flip-flops with a manageable, easy-to-walk-in heel.
Gimaguas's take on the look is undeniably sexy, but it also feels fun. It's a clear throwback to the 2010s, when the silhouette was everywhere. It feels perfect for 2026, as it's basically 2016, according to the internet. Welcome back, wedges!
