30 Spring Buys From H&M, Mango and Arket That Say Hello, Sunshine
The sun has finally arrived! And not the chilly, blue sky kind—actual warmth-on your-face, remove-a-layer kind of sunshine. And all we can say is hoo-rah. We were due a bit of respite, weren’t we? The next few weeks are looking positively balmy compared to all the drizzle we’ve had to endure, which means it’s finally time to start getting excited about spring fashion once again. Yes, that means the elevating power of trench coats, the ease of a simple blazer-and-jeans outfit, and the joy of throwing on your favourite dress with trainers—it’s all back. I don’t know about you, but my overworked winter wardrobe is welcoming it with open arms.
If you haven’t already, this week is the perfect time to unearth your spring wardrobe from its vacuum packs or storage boxes and start taking stock of what pieces you have already (remember those?) and where the gaps lie in your new-season capsule. That way, you can approach the new spring collections with a clear idea of which pieces will actually uplift your everyday outfits or add something to your occasionwear offering, for example.
While you’re busy doing that, it’s our job as Who What Wear editors to scour all the new-in sections and make sure we're bringing you the best of the best to make your lives easier when you do come to shop. In fact, I’ve been making a start already (I got overexcited by the weather report, okay!), and if you keep scrolling, you’ll find some of the most exciting affordable spring fashion I’ve laid eyes on so far.
H&M, Mango and Arket are always top of our list as fashion editors when refreshing our own closets, and when I checked their latest drops this week, I felt totally inspired for the sunny days ahead. So I thought it would be useful to share my findings, from zesty brights to palette-cleansing neutrals, there are so many easy pieces that will give your existing outfits an instant injection of spring. I’ve added links below to the 30 pieces that impressed me most. Enjoy!
1. Arket
Last year, I relied on linen shirts from spring until the end of summer. And can we talk about that tangerine colour?
Switch your chunky boots for these, and you've got an instant spring outfit.
Everyone can benefit from a trench at this time of year. If you're searching for the perfect style, I love Arket's light linen-mix one.
I see this with denim shorts, chunky sandals and a spring jacket.
Such a pretty dress that will work for the office as well as all those weddings you have coming up.
I'm here for the top-to-toe green look this season, but I can also imagine this skirt with an oversized white shirt to balance it out.
Denim shirts are selling out all over the shop this spring, and this one will probably be next to go.
This cardigan is an investment you'll wear for years. Throw it on over vests and T-shirts now, and layer it up in winter for warmth.
2. H&M
Ob-sessed. I'd love to wear this whole outfit to a wedding this year. You too? Then here are the matching trousers and that beautiful shirt, too.
H&M's plus-size range has really impressed me this year, especially for spring basics like this.
So pretty! I love it paired with these tailored trousers.
Comfortable but still elegant. Wear these with everything from jeans and midi skirts to dresses.
Just add a fresh white vest top, a cropped jacket and the mules above, and you've got the perfect spring outfit.
The throw-on dress of the season. Get it before it's gone. Psst, it comes in plus-size too.
3. Mango
Add this to your favourite jeans and T-shirt for an instant spring update. Bravo, Mango, for producing it in a diverse size range, too.
Pedal pushers are back, and whether you like them or not, it's hard to deny how cute these trousers are!
A good denim jacket is a spring-capsule essential. Wear it over midi skirts or do double denim.
I love this co-ord for brightening up office days, but you could also wear it to an event, perhaps with these feathered heels!
Okay, this is a little bit fun. I'll be wearing it with a white shirt and jeans for the pub.
