The Most Epic Designer Shoes Celebs Have Worn in 2019 (So Far)
Here at Who What Wear, we make it our mission to uncover the best designer shoes from emerging talent and heritage brands alike. We're constantly refreshing our new arrivals tabs and scrolling through our Instagram feeds in search of the latest pairs to hit the fashion world, all so we can share our findings with you here. But apart from surfing sites like Net-a-Porter, Moda Operandi, and Farfetch on our own, we're also looking to the celebrity street style scene to inform us of the latest designer shoes to look at, talk about, and maybe even add to cart.
At the risk of jumping the gun on the best shoes of 2019, we're sharing the most epic shoes our favorite celebs have worn so far this year. Looking back on the last several months, we came across the It shoes that chic women like Rihanna, Chrissy Teigen, and Victoria Beckham have styled to perfection. The following 11 designer shoes are epic all on their own but worn by these A-listers, they're truly next-level. Keep reading to see and then shop the best designer heels, boots, sandals, and slides.
On Rihanna: Fenty Drawstring Plain Satin Mini Dress ($560) and Evening Sandals ($670); David Webb jewelry
When Rihanna announced that she would be launching a namesake line of luxury ready-to-wear, we knew it would be legendary, but we weren't prepared for how epic the shoes, in particular, would be. Naturally, RiRi is her own best model for these pink metallic sandals from her Fenty line.
On Hailey Bieber: Jacquemus Les Bottes Pantalon Leather Boots ($1279); J Brand Elsa Hosk Birthday Blazer ($974); MM6 Maison Margiela Inside Out Logo T-Shirt ($255); Jennifer Fisher Mini Maeve Hoop Earrings ($750); Celine Edge sunglasses; Rolex watch
What do you get when you combine one of the buzziest fashion brands with the most talked-about celeb right now? Pure magic. We'd been eyeing these Jacquemus boots ever since they dropped, and now that they have Hailey Bieber's stamp of approval, we're fully obsessed.
On Bella Hadid: Babaton Knit Tank; I.Am.Gia pants; Fraser Sterling earrings; Wandler Isa Leather Mules ($470)
Bella Hadid was one of the first celebs we spotted wearing Wandler's It shoes, which she owns in black (as seen above) and an eye-catching red and leopard colorway. The brand is mostly known for its bags, but this is its first foray into shoes, and they couldn't have made a better entrance.
On Selena Gomez: Jennifer Fisher earrings; Balenciaga Zip-Front Logo Track Jacket ($1195); Alexandre Vauthier Strapless Slit-Front Cocktail Dress ($2090); Fendi Colibrì Knee High Boots ($1100)
Even celebrities aren't immune to the logomania trend that's taking over the fashion world right now. Selena Gomez was spotted wearing Fendi's knee-high sock boots, which she masterfully styled with a sleek all-black outfit.
On Victoria Beckham: Victoria Beckham Chain-Print Midi Dress and pumps
Victoria Beckham doesn't stray far from her wardrobe of edited, polished staples, so when we see her testing out a bold new shoe trend, we take note immediately. Such was the case here when she wore a pair of hot pink pumps (from her own line, no less) to a wedding in Spain. Is it a coincidence that the fuschia hue has been trending hard in fashion ever since?
On Kendall Jenner: Reformation Dallas Top ($148); By Far Mini Bag ($510); Simon Miller Black Patent Beep Thong 45 Sandals ($370)
Leave it to Kendall Jenner to test out the year's most controversial shoes and make them look so good while doing it. Over the summer, she wore Simon Miller's high-heeled flip-flops—quite the polarizing shoe choice—with a Reformation It top like it was no big deal.
On Zendaya: Ports 1961 blazer and trousers; L'Agence Mariela Bodysuit ($235); Aquazzura Sundance Metallic Leather Sandals ($895)
Zendaya gave us a lot to take in with this outfit, but once we laid our eyes on her shoes, we couldn't look away. The metallic sandals feature a chunky platform sole and ribbed texture that give off a futuristic disco vibe we're way into.
On Emily Ratajkowski: Zara Double-Breasted Blazer ($119); Inamorata Beverly Bodysuit ($54); Jennifer Fisher Small Bolden Hoop Earrings ($295); Citizens of Humanity Chrissy High Rise Skinny Jeans ($218); Carolina Santo Domingo Sofia Leather Crossbody Bag ($630); Schutz Maryana Boots ($290)
Knee-high boots are trending hard on the fashion front this fall, and despite all the expensive designer versions that exist, Emily Ratajkowski is making a strong case for this luxurious-looking (and under-$300) pair—with a Zara blazer no less.
On Irina Shayk: Bottega Veneta Flat Chelsea Combat Boots ($990); Etro Pasego Crossbody Bag ($1180)
It wouldn't really be a roundup of designer shoes in 2019 without a nod to Bottega Veneta. The newly revamped house has been churning out It shoe after It shoe, and Irina Shayk's heavy-duty boots are the latest ones to get a celebrity stamp of approval.
On Chrissy Teigen: Victoria Beckham Sheer Belted Coat ($1342); L'Agence Daniella Top ($225); Gucci Ophidia Crocodile Small Shoulder Bag ($15000); GRLFRND Karolina Distressed High-Rise Skinny Jeans ($248); Fendi Double F Pool Slides ($690)
Chrissy Teigen has mastered the art of high-low dressing better than most, and this casual denim outfit of hers accessorized with fuzzy Fendi slides is proof of this. Name a better pair of shoes to wear with jeans… we'll wait.
On Priyanka Chopra: Hale Bob dress; By Far Tanya Sandals; Le Specs sunglasses; Ferragamo bag
With their square toe and barely there straps, By Far's Tanya sandals were the cult shoe pick we saw on everyone this summer. Priyanka styled them effortlessly here with a printed slip dress and top-handle bag.
