I'm a Beauty Director, and Wow—How Are These Designer Staples on Sale Right Now?
If discovering that great beauty product (aka something I use religiously) on sale is like finding a needle in a haystack, then finding a great designer beauty product on sale feels like finding a unicorn. It just doesn't happen. Unless, of course, you happen to be shopping Nordstrom's Spring Sale right now, which miraculously features tons of amazing designer formulas at a fraction of the price. The selection almost feels too good to be true.
Fifty-three pages of scrolling later (yes, you're welcome), I spotted countless designer items that I rely on daily and routinely recommend to friends, family, and readers who have the highest standards when it comes to beauty. Below, I'm sharing Nordstrom's standout designer beauty offerings that are temporarily less expensive for a limited time only. And for what it's worth, I have a suspicion that these picks, in particular, will be the first to sell out, so I wouldn't wait. Keep scrolling to shop my curated list of recommendations.
No other designer foundation exists in my eyes. If you're going to invest in a splurge-worthy formula, make it the one celebrities, makeup artists, and editors wax poetic about.
Is this complementary concealer mandatory? Absolutely not. Is it a good idea if you want to fake the look of perfect skin? Most definitely.
This designer lip oil from Dior has become so famous I don't think it even needs an introduction. Not all of the shades are on sale, but two of my favorites, Berry and Raspberry, are.
Here's another Dior staple that's (very deservedly) developed icon status thanks to social media. In fact, it's one of the few blushes I've used so often that I've actually hit the pan. So yes, that's certifiable proof that this blush is worth the hype.
If my glowing testimony for this perfume isn't enough to convince you to give it a try, maybe the nearly perfect five-star rating (and over one thousand reviews!) will be. It's floral, woody, and intoxicating.
Most cult-loved products eventually fall from grace, but this subtle brightening pen from YSL has been a beloved staple among makeup artists and editors for years, and the obsession has yet to die down.
Miss Dior was my first-ever "big girl" perfume. It's Dior's all-time best-selling fragrance, and years after its high school debut in my beauty rotation, it's still a scent I love to spritz on for special occasions.
This beautiful liquid luminizer is so underrated. It's perhaps one of the best on the market (whether you're using it on bare skin or a full face), so I'm constantly stumped as to why more people don't know about it. I quite literally have it in every shade.
This is such a classic scent, and if you're a gourmand lover, it's essential to round out your perfume wardrobe. (That said, even if you're not a gourmand scent person, I'm convinced the mix of coffee, white flowers, and vanilla, will convert you.)
These lipsticks from Tom Ford are so luxurious and velvety. You can't go wrong with any of the shades, but Impassioned and Spanish Pink are frequent flyers on the red carpet and within many a celebrity makeup bag.
I might be the biggest mascara snob you'll ever meet. I have impossibly high standards, yet this little wand of perfection (curl! length! volume!) has remained in my top five for years. Plus, I love the different shade options.
You literally cannot miss with this perfume, and I have yet to meet a human who doesn't give it a sniff only to become immediately obsessed. There's no other way to describe this one other than devastatingly sexy. I'm picking up the travel spray version, as it will still last forever, and I like to have it on hand when I'm out for the night.
There was a moment of absolute panic among beauty lovers a while back when there were rumors that Tom Ford's cult-loved Shade & Illuminate Contour palette was *maybe* getting discontinued. Luckily, it's still available, but you just don't recover from that type of jump scare, so I'm stocking up now.
Don't underestimate the power of *the* perfect brush when it comes to mastering an undetectable contour job.
I like to think of Cherry Smoke as Lost Cherry's slightly hotter sister. It's literally what date-night dreams are made of, and it almost gives me a nostalgic jolt of Cherry Cola vibes. It's pretty much lick-your-skin-good, so be careful who you wear it around.
If you're someone who favors liquid eye shadow formulas, look no further than these pretty tints from Armani. Take it from someone who talks to celebrity makeup artists every week, it's a red carpet staple.
I'm not a powder eye shadow person, but if I were, these best-selling quads from Tom Ford are the ones I'd consistently reach for. (If you'd heard makeup artists and editors gush about them as much as I have, you would too.)
This perfume has quickly become Prada's most-wanted scent. The trifecta of jasmine, amber, and moss has the added perk of being perfect for spring and summer.
Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. This light-catching body oil smells like a yacht trip, bottled, and it also gives your skin the most photogenic of glows.
In case you haven't heard, natural nails are the trend set to define 2024. This glossy clear polish from Dior enhances and perfects the natural tone of your nails, so mastering the trend at home is a snap.
Ever since its launch a few years ago, I have not been able to get enough of this yummy lip and cheek balm from Yves Saint Laurent. The formula gives the perfect amount of diffused color (anywhere you want on your face) and is impossible to fuck up. Shades Nu Chills and Nu Flush are my two most-used.
I don't have much in common with Taylor Swift (hey, a girl can dream), but we do share a love for this best-selling Tom Ford fragrance. (Think an earthy medley of sandalwood, cinnamon, and ylang-ylang.)
Erin has been writing a mix of beauty and wellness content for Who What Wear for over four years. Prior to that, she spent two and half years writing for Byrdie. She now calls Santa Monica home but grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and studied writing, rhetoric, and communication at University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. She studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, and spent a summer in L.A. interning with the Byrdie and Who What Wear family. After graduating from UW, she spent one year in San Francisco, where she worked as a writer for Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen before moving down to L.A. to begin her career as a beauty editor. She considers her day-to-day beauty aesthetic very low-maintenance and relies on staples like clear brow serum (from Kimiko!), Lawless's Lip Plumping Mask in Cherry Vanilla, and an eyelash curler. For special occasions or days when she's taking more meetings or has an event, she'll wear anything and everything from Charlotte Tilbury (the foundations are game-changing), some shimmer on her lids (Stila and Róen do it best), and a few coats of the best mascara-type product on earth, Surratt's Noir Lash Tint.
