When it comes to Christmas parties, it can be all too easy to end up not feeling like yourself, wearing an abundance of sparkles and sequins because that’s what you’re supposed to wear in December. But Alexa Chung proved this weekend that if you’re not a dress-and-heels kind of girl, you can look just as elegant in your favourite pair of jeans.
At the Fashion Awards nominees lunch in London on Sunday, Alexa wore cropped jeans with a slight flare when most wore cocktail dresses. The key to wearing jeans to your Christmas party is clean, unripped denim; immaculate tailoring; and expensive-looking accessories to ensure the outfit looks polished rather than scruffy. And so Alexa paired her Alexa Chung x AG jeans with a smart tailored blazer by Blaze Milano and a pair of black Gianvito Rossi velvet stilettos that look straight out of the box.

Alexa then added a number of "party" touches, including an Edie Parker box clutch personalised with a gold glittery "Alexa," a black lace body, a twinkling embellished belt and festive red lipstick. This is the second time Alexa has worn this exact outfit combo in the last three weeks, as she wore these jeans, a black jacket and stilettos for a night with Dior in November.
