11 Pieces That Make Up Alexa Chung's Autumn Capsule
As you know, Alexa Chung is one of our all-time favourite style icons here at Who What Wear UK. Season after season, she manages to absolutely nail the casual-but-still-put-together outfit that takes a lot more effort than it seems. Alexa looks cool on an average day, so when it comes round to fashion month, we know she’s going to pull out all the stops.
This season did not disappoint, and we’ve been keeping a watchful eye (aka swooning over her looks in the office) every time she’s stepped out. The coat-and-minidress look is a genius take on transitional dressing. The pink Simone Rocha trench proved that it’s okay to forgo beige once in a while. And let us not overlook that black suit (we’ve never seen one styled so perfectly).
Don’t worry, though—all is not lost for us mere mortals. We’ve searched the high street and found out that shopping Alexa’s looks isn’t as hard as it seems. Keep scrolling to see the outfits we’re adding to our baskets right now.
1. Going-Out Top, Jeans and Chunky Shoes
We love this effortless nice-top–and-jeans look from Alexa. The black velvet and frills give it a vintage feel. It also appears she’s wise to use the power of chunky shoes for updating your wardrobe this autumn.
2. The Black Evening Suit and Metallic Shoes
We all know a black tux is a classic, but Alexa has inspired us to dust ours off this party season with her black bra and metallic sandals. A chunky chain necklace (the jewellery piece of the moment) sets it all off nicely.
3. The Tweed Coat and Neon Knit
This herringbone pea coat is the perfect weekend (or airport in Alexa’s case) cover-up. We probably all have one of these already (if you haven’t, the Mint Velvet style below is an obvious choice), but it’s the neon-yellow knit that really excites us here. We’re also glad patent boots aren’t going anywhere. Thanks, Alexa.
4. The Minidress and Maxi Coat
This look makes us want to go out and buy a camel maxi coat immediately. It also makes us want to shave our legs so we can pull off all the miniskirt and dress styles we keep seeing everywhere. She tops it off with metallic Mary-Jane shoes. Classic Alexa.
5. The Pink Trench Coat and Classic Converse
This is the trench coat of dreams. Yes, it’s way out of the average person’s price range, but we love how the pink brightens up a grey day, and the Stradivarius number below will do the same. Extra points to Alexa for dressing it down with classic Levi’s and trainers.
