“I love beauty products!” says Foley. Not surprisingly, she did her own hair and makeup for a party in honor of 2013’s CFDA nominees at New York boutique Fivestory. “I use ByTerry's Soleil Terrybly ($90)--it gives my skin a little color--with Clarins' Beauty Flash Balm ($45),” she says. “I just mix the two together in my hands and apply with my fingers, like I’m applying moisturizer.”

“On top of the base I use Keyvn Aucoin's Celestial Bronzing Veil ($45),” says Foley. “It’s a great bronzing powder with just a very slight shimmer.” Dust it across your forehead, down the bridge of your nose, and along your cheekbones--basically anywhere the sun hits.”

If you’re skipping eyeliner or shadow, like Foley, don’t be afraid to go to town with your mascara wand. Start as close to the lash line as possible, shimmying the wand through the roots and up the lash for as many coats as it takes to get a bold, dark fringe for evening. If mascara gets on your waterline, let it be! Foley uses Nars’ Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara ($25).

Foley’s a diehard fan of Original & Mineral, the recent Australian import. “After showering, while my hair is damp, I use O&M's Know Knott ($26) detangling spray,” she says. “It allows me to let it dry naturally.” (If your hair isn’t quite so shiny post-air dry, work a few drops of Bumble and bumble’s Color Minded UV Protective Polish ($28) into damp hair, use a hair dryer with a nozzle, and blow-dry with your fingers.)

Once her hair’s air-dried, Foley works O&M’s Frizzy Logic Serum ($27) starting at the mid-length and down to the ends to add shine and manage stray hairs. If you weren’t born with Foley’s wave, use a flat iron to bend random one-inch sections around your head. Resist the urge to bend more than a few sections!
