New York, London, and Milan were all noteworthy in their own rights, but there's no denying that Paris has a way of making its own distinctive mark on the finalization of the trends for the season at hand. There's a reason they save the city that brings us Chanel, Saint Laurent, and Celine for the absolute end of fashion month, and if you ask us, it's a finale well worth waiting for.

That was proven yet again by the F/W 2020 collections that went down the runway earlier this week and last. From the heritage brands we mentioned above to some of the newer stars like Marine Serre and Off-White, not only were there countless covetable looks, but also a slew of fresh trends to emerge which we know are destined to blow up in six months' time.

Ahead, get ready to digest the six most important trends to come out of Paris Fashion Week—from full-length opera gloves to latex. And in case you can't wait until next season to participate in the trends here, we shopped each of them out so you can get a head start.

Fun feathers showed up on such runways as Lanvin, Ellery, Altuzarra, and, of course, the above in more forms than we could even count. Think coats, dresses, belts, bags, and more—all of which indicate to us that the fancy little detail will be something of a big deal come next fall.

Giambattista Valli is no stranger to feminine touches, so we weren't the least bit surprised to see the designer buy into this trend.

Opting for a more mature take for Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller utilized feathers to adorn part of her eveningwear section.

Feathers were just one of the major trends we spotted on Marine Serre's runway, which also included velvet, gloves, and big necklaces.

Gloves were spotted not only during Paris fashion week, but also throughout New York, London, and Milan. Reaching opulent opera lengths, this elegant accessory proved to be more versatile than we imagined—accompanying everything from the more expected formalwear to casual suiting and back again.

Givenchy displayed a perfect example of how to style this trend in your everyday life. The unexpected addition of gloves to more contemporary attire is just the fresh spin fall 2020 needs.

At Valentino, even the formalwear got a contemporary update via the contrast of frilly organza dresses, heavier leather gloves, and boots.

Curious how to jazz up your LBD? Lanvin's runway proved a sleek pair of black opera gloves are the only accessory you'll need.

Ready or not, high-shine, in-your-face latex is one of the biggest things to come out of Paris. From the many skintight options we saw at Balmain and Saint Laurent to Balenciaga's even more out-there take, expect the liquidy, leather-like material to be a big part of the fall 2020 fashion scene.

In addition to the dresses, Anthony Vaccarello also delivered a slew of latex looks featuring leggings and skirts.

Statement necklaces have felt obsolete for a long time, but according to the F/W 20 runways, they are officially back. Quite the assortment of heavy choker statement necklaces graced the collars of models wearing everything from dresses to coats. If you take one thing away from this jewelry trend, it's that come fall, your neck should be flexing (hard).

This striking drop-choker spotted at Alexander McQueen took heavy metals to another level entirely. Suddenly, mixing heavy metals with more delicate counterparts doesn't feel so daunting.

The statement necklace styled over a flipped collar is something we spotted not only here at Mugler, but also at Proenza Schouler. In other words, keep a close eye on this forward styling trick.

Off-White incorporated these heavy statement necklaces all over the runway, but Yolanda Hadid's look naturally stood out amongst the rest.

While velvet is always a viable choice in the colder seasons of fall and winter, every once in awhile, it becomes less of an option and more of a must-have material. Thanks to a slew of designers, it's looking like that will definitely be the case in about six months' time.

It wouldn't be a '70s-inspired collection without a solid amount of velvet.

Chanel's predominately neutral F/W 20 show collection relied on a variety of textures and silhouettes to make its mark.

You can always expect a furry moment to come down a fall season's runway, and this time, the major takeaway is that faux shearling is getting a lengthy update. Long shearling coats—both trimmed and in full—convinced us that if we're going to invest in one statement coat this fall, it's going to be a hairy one.

If all-over shag isn't really your vibe, let Louis Vuitton's pared-back take on the trend inspire you.

Spotted: Three key trends from Paris fashion week in one look. This Miu Miu outfit is proving shaggy shearling, statement collar necklaces, and gloves are, in fact, new trends to watch.
