Fact: New York women have mastered the art of always—and I mean always—looking chic. Whether they're lounging at home or dressing up for a date night, there's a certain elevated sense of style that's become a signature for the city's women. Since many of us have spent the past several months wearing nothing but sweatpants and leggings, it's time we turn to our NYC friends for some (much-needed) styling inspiration.

One of the city's especially stylish inhabitants is Amy Julliette Léfevre, a model and Instagrammer who's called New York home for the past four years. If you're one of the 200k followers Léfevre can count on her platform, you'd know that despite our new stay-at-home lifestyle, her style hasn't wavered one bit. In fact, she's continued to create outfits, some as simple as jeans and a tank, that are always elevated and incredibly chic. So as fans of her style, we tapped Léfever to share the ultimate style rules she lives by and, well, we're officially inspired.

From her expert jewelry layering game to her enviable collection of handbags, see her best styling tips in action and shop some pieces to incorporate into your own outfits.

1. Add a stack of jewelry for a finishing touch.

"This is probably my primary go-to rule. You can find me using stacked necklaces everywhere I go. I mix jewelry brands I love to create the layering effect with four to six necklaces. Most of the necklaces are a simple design, but I usually have one necklace with a bigger pendant. A few of my favorite brands are Logan Hollowell, Mejuri, and Astrid & Miyu."

2. Always reach for a power bag.

"One of the primary accessories I use to dress up any outfit is a strong statement bag. For example, I will wear a set of sweats—I love the pink Ragdoll LA matching set—and dress it up with one of my By Far bags to wear on a coffee run or to meet clients. Some bags bring so much magic to an outfit!"

3. Oversize blazers are a wardrobe must-have.

"I frequently don an oversize blazer over almost any basic. I will wear it with a T-shirt or even a sports bra for a laid back but still sophisticated look. Try it—it's a super-easy look and really comfortable!"

4. Go for formfitting midi and maxi dresses.

"It is summer, so it's the perfect time to break the midi-to-long dresses out. I am especially loving long form-fitted cuts! I feel so empowered when I wear them, and they are also super comfy. Some of my favorites are Trois the Label, Rat & Boa, and House of CB's long fits."

5. When in doubt, match.

Another outfit trick I noticed when scrolling through Léfevre's expertly curated feed is her affinity for matching sets. Whether it be a silky crop top and skirt set or something as casual and comfy as a sweatshirt and sweat shorts, coordination makes for a pulled-together look no matter the context of the outfit.
