The New "Leg-Lengthening" Sneakers Every NYC Girl Will Wear
Day-to-night dressing is a concept New York women know well. Since it's not unusual to head straight from work (or even a workout) to drinks, having clothes that transition to fit your needs is key. Hence, the genius of Nike's new City Ready collection, nine pieces that are designed to work just as well for evening drinks as they do for your daily sweat session. Nike enlisted an all-women team, headed up by Senior Creative Director Maria Vu to create the perfect capsule collection.
While I could honestly say I'd happily wear any of the pieces to the gym (or to drinks), the sneakers were of particular interest to me. Having tested out the Zoom Pegasus Turbos in July, I knew they were a great pair of running shoes, but I was surprised to learn from Vu that they're designed to flatter your body too. As part of City Ready, Nike is dropping the Nike Pegasus Turbo XX, which Vu notes via press release is designed specifically with women in mind. "To make it versatile for her diverse workouts, we needed to offer more stability with a collar for ankle support, which was also a good height aesthetically to create a longer-leg effect with the tights." Read on to check out the full collection (which is available starting September 14). Then shop the Zoom Pegasus Turbo in your favorite color.
