Nicole Kidman Wore the Only Flat-Shoe Trend That Matters for Spring

While Nicole Kidman's red carpet style can be quite avant-garde, she sticks to the classics during her off-duty hours. And when we say classics, we mean straight-leg or skinny jeans, blazers, and structured top-handle handbags. Case in point: While out to dinner last night in Los Angeles, Kidman wore a blazer and loose-fitting trousers with the most classic of 2020 flat-shoe trends: loafers.

Now, we get that it might seem odd to call loafers a trend, but post–Gucci loafer craze, the style did cool off for a bit, making way for ballerina flats, Mary Janes, etc. But as someone who favors loafers and was very happy to see them all over some of the biggest runways (e.g., Chanel, Prada, and Fendi) and now on one of the most stylish celebs, I strongly urge you to order a new pair for when you're ready to bust out of your ankle boots. They're truly the perfect winter-to-spring shoe style.
