Kate Middleton's Wedding Guest Outfit Just Blew Us All Away
A trend has officially emerged for wedding guests across the land: pink. Pixie Geldof was the first to arrive in a highlighter-pink Celine maxi, with many other attendees of Princess Eugenie's wedding today following suit. Yellow ruled the church walk at Meghan and Harry's big day, but the palette has moved on for October.
Kate Middleton sidestepped her previously pastel or muted tones that we've seen her choose for other nuptials (remember her nude-pink silky tea dress at sister Pippa's ceremony?) in favor of a more vibrant shade of raspberry. With puffed shoulders, a nipped-in waist, and full volume in the skirt (that billowed in this blustery day's weather, rather than threatened to reveal all like some other unfortunate guests wearing silkier or lighter-weight fabrics), Kate made every fashion editor and TV reporter look twice. Like Meghan, leaning on her brand of choice, Kate too revisited the label that often crafts her most memorable wares: Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.
Complementing her look with a fascinator in complementary tones and a deeper shade of berry pink in her velvet Jimmy Choo pumps (as worn only a day ago with this checked Erdem dress), Kate achieved that holy grail of event-dressing: matching without looking stuffy.
