23 Celebs and Stylish Women Who Make Me Want to Wear Hair Accessories Every Day

Pearly barrettes, velvet headbands, oversized scrunchies… Name any hair accessory and I can pretty much guarantee that interest in it has spiked at some point this year. Does that mean my love affair with hair clips and hair scarves is showing any signs of coming to an end? Absolutely not. In fact, not a day goes by when I don't bookmark at least one photo of a cool girl adorned with a stack of hair slides or a scarf-entwined braid on Instagram.

However, I have to admit that when it comes to wearing them myself, I'm in a bit of a hair-accessories safe zone. Sure, I've worn a simple pearl hair slide to accessorise a wedding-guest outfit, and I've occasionally worn a hair-clip duo on the side of my head (mainly when I want to feel like I've made more of an effort than just scraping my hair back into a second-day bun), but that's about as far as my creativity extends.

Is it a headband? Is it a hair scarf? I'm not entirely sure. But what I do know is that Ada makes this knotted satin twist look so cool.

Lucy Boynton

I'm already completely obsessed with the way that Lucy Boynton is always up for pushing beauty boundaries, and her dreamy pastel headband is no exception. I'm all over this lilac, peach and dove-grey colour palette. The Swarovski-style band is the icing on the cake.

Nnenna Echem

Most of my saved hair accessory images come courtesy of Nnenna. What can I say? This girl knows how to accessorise. I love this stacked-up quartet of pearl barrettes (particularly how she's chosen an oversized one for her final clip).

Lily Collins

One of the lesser-spotted hair accessories of the year has to be the ponytail cuff, but I'll be rushing out to buy one after spotting it on Lily's elegant topknot.

Ellie Nesmon

Proving that hair clips can work on the shortest of hairstyles, Ellie's pearl-clip duo looks beautiful when worn on the side of her pixie cut.

I love how Pixie's topped her pony with a floaty twist of white chiffon—a cool contrast with her chic tailored jacket.

A-J Alingue

This hair-clip look gives me serious '90s vibes. A row of colourful hair slides on each side of A-J's sleek middle parting is a seriously fun way to wear clips.

Nina Sandbech

Now, this is how you do party accessorising. Nina's oversized pink-velvet headband takes centre stage and looks amazing teamed with her laid-back ponytail.

If you're a total newbie to hair accessories, then Lesley's elegant ponytail and pearl clip is a great place to start. Simply stunning.

Jodie Comer

I'm a bit of a Jodie Comer fan girl as it is, but this hair look really stole my heart. My buns are never as intricately twisted as this one, but I'll definitely be dotting in some petite hair pins next time I wear mine.

Chloé Harrouche

This is how French girls do hair accessories: sleek, elegant and in a simple monochromatic colour palette. Chloé's black-and-white headband is totally timeless.

Megan Ellaby

I didn't know I had any desire to wear my name on my head until I saw Megan's personalised hair clip. The beaded barrette underneath is a cute way to mix and match different styles.

Courtney Trop

Tortoiseshell hair clips always look great, but I particularly love how the colour of this one matches Courtney's auburn strands.

Turns out that velvet headbands make the perfect wedding-guest accessory, as demonstrated by Monikh and this beautiful ivory piece.

Lupita Nyong'o

How damn cute. Lupita's hair scarf looks pretty as a picture when left to fall into a floppy ribbon at the top of her head.

ASOS Lotte

Not only is Lotte's headband so damn stylish, but when the sun's out, it's also a practical way to keep your hair out of your face so you always look as cool as a cucumber.

Zoë Kravitz

The bigger the celebrity, the bigger the hair accessory? Zoë's ginormous hair ribbon is all kinds of amazing.

Callie proves that hair accessories work just as well by the pool with this retro hair ribbon in clashing pink and red. Love.
