Our fashion coverage of airport style is pretty extensive here at Who What Wear. It’s not without reason, however. It really is pretty tricky to master traveling in style and strike that perfect balance between aesthetics and practicality. That’s why we so often look to celebrities for inspiration, as they are the true pros of international travel. However, that doesn’t mean the rest of us aren’t just as capable of creating stylish airport outfits.
Street style photographer Jonathan Paciullo set out to prove just that. Of course, what better group to photograph than the French, a population famed for their effortlessly chic style? Vogue introduced us to the photo series Paciullo recently completed in coordination with Paris Aéroport, the organization that oversees Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports in Paris. He spent three months at the former shooting street style photos and talking to travelers about fashion, with the end results printed on banners to be hung throughout the airport as a testament to travelers’ sartorial efforts. All we can say is we’re seriously impressed and doubly inspired for the rest of our summer travels.
