I've been shopping at Nordstrom since I was a teenager, and over the years, I've watched the retailer's curation get better and better. I still remember how excited I was when I first discovered Space—its in-house boutique spotlighting emerging and advanced designers. It quickly became a reliable source for brand discovery, all in one place.
Another thing I love about the retailer is its annual Anniversary Sale. This year, I decided to go see it in person at the NYC flagship. With seven floors and over 320,000 square feet, I was immediately drawn to the beauty on the first floor as I walked in—in awe of all of the beloved brands, from Rōz to Parfums de Marly to Prada Beauty. As for the fashion, I recommend using this as a chance to get chic basics you can wear on repeat.

What I Tried On
With the goal of shopping for chic basics, I was drawn to this 90% wool, 10% cashmere sweater, which feels a bit more elevated than just a regular T-shirt.
Of course, Levi's were on my list. One of my friends has these exact full-length, straight-leg jeans, and they always look so flattering.
Hear me out: This polo dress with the contrast trim reminds me of the early 2000s preppy aesthetic that's making a comeback (and was seen at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival). Even beyond that, this piece, to me, feels more refined and timeless—more enduring than trend-driven. I'm picturing it it with Miu Miu satin ballerina flats or kitten heels.
Open Edit's whole focus is on minimalist essentials, so I knew I had to see what it had marked down. The Reformation Casette Dress has been a go-to wedding guest dress for me, and this satin midi feels similar.
This lightweight sweater comes in a long-sleeve version as well.
