From NYC to Paris, These Fall Transitional Outfits Are Officially Trending

My excitement for fall dressing cannot be overstated. I. Love. Autumn. The light layers, the suede accessories, and reuniting with my favorite part of my closet (my jean collection) have me giddy. For the last few years, my fall uniform has been consistent: Jeans, a crisp T-shirt, suede boots, and a light jacket. Depending on the trends, I'll swap in barrel-leg jeans for a straight-leg pair, cowboy boots for ankle boots, or barn jackets for trench coats. With early fall trends already making their debut, I'm ready to see what my favorite brands have to offer.
During my usual market scroll, four brands and retailers stood out to me. Shopbop, J.Crew, SSENSE, and Lululemon are already carrying the fall trends I'm eager to incorporate into my summer-to-fall wardrobe. Pieces like plaid button-downs and overcoats, suede shoes and bags, and the hyper-specific sporty trends that Lululemon is nailing right now (think anorak jackets and cropped leggings). To shop 24 arrivals inspired by trending transitional outfits, keep scrolling.
I can always count on J.Crew to have a fresh POV on preppy, coastal trends. As we transition from summer to fall, I'd style the uber-popular lace-trim shorts with a cashmere sweater. Or, you could take silky pants and a cropped white T-shirt and throw a barn jacket over top. Dressing for an in-between season doesn't require a whole new wardrobe; it just means you have to get a bit creative with your styling.
I'll be honest, I have shied away from wearing athletic wear outside of the gym, but the fashion set has spoken, and it's time to incorporate them into my everyday rotation once again. They've inspired me with their styling of leggings with button-downs, and anorak jackets with denim. And if you're wondering where to find these sporty essentials, it's at Lululemon, of course.
Whenever I want to find the cool French girl–inspired pieces, I head straight to SSENSE. French style has always been the blueprint, but I love to see how the retailer styles fall arrivals. To shop the small but mighty curation of new apparel and bags I think a French girl would wear this month, keep scrolling.
Ah, Shopbop, a dangerous destination for my wallet. I love the mix of high and low price points it offers. Sure, this adorable Reformation trench might be $350, but the equally cool pair of Levi's® falls in the under-$100 category. There truly is something here for everyone's fall budget, and if you're curious about what I'm investing in, it's the following.
