Every year, I require the gentlest of reintroductions to wearing actual closed-toe, heel-hugging footwear. Since my little baby-soft summer feet take most of fall to adjust from wearing anything other than sandals and sneakers, my MO is always to get my hands on fun new winter footwear purchases to wear around our apartment well ahead of any actual weather that demands them—which is to say this is prime time for me to start shopping for boots.
First, like everyone else, I'm looking to secure an on-trend suede style ASAP for maximum wear time before things get rainy out there. Burgundies and browns feel very fall 2024, and you know I'm always in the market for a classic black leather boot. As a well-documented flat-shoe girly, flat boots are always top of mind, with kitten-heeled styles as my go-to for something a bit fancier—and if a high heel is what floats your boat, I've found plenty that would look great with everything from dresses to jeans. From more affordable styles from Mango and Zara to investment-worthy options from Toteme and Khaite, here are 36 of the best pairs of boots you can buy this fall.
