As the paragon of boho dressing, it should come as no surprise to see Sienna Miller master yet another floaty mini to combat the recent heatwave that’s been gripping London for the past week. Eschewing her favourite ethereal Chloé maxis, the actress stepped out in her old haunt of Portobello Road to celebrate the opening of Debute’s pop-up boutique.
Founded by sisters Jazzy De Lisser and Lola Bute, the brand fuses the daring silhouettes found along Ibiza coastlines with the ease and effortlessness of London style, making it like catnip for cool girls seeking flirty hemlines, sensual prints and beachy accents.
These are fitting adages for a woman who has made herself a devotee of lace trims, blissful eyelets and tiered skirts, so it wasn’t a major stretch of the imagination to see the mother-of-three out and about in their styles. What did pique interest, however, was the fact that her ensembles consisted of the cardinal pieces in a chic French woman’s summer wardrobe.
As a British It girl through and through, one always associates Miller’s style with the sartorial capital, be it through her penchant for tailored jeans and boxy blazers when off-duty in Marylebone, or her sumptuous knits and nap dresses when at home at Buckinghamshire cottage.
Still, for the outing, she looked every part Parisian in a dreamy broderie anglaise mini and T-bar sandals. She accented these pieces with a woven basket bag, too, which has long been the staple of style icons like Jane Birkin and Catherine Deneuve, further cementing her allegiance to the Côte d'Azur aesthetic.
This wasn’t a one-time occasion either. As posted on Debute’s Instagram, Miller also posed in a pretty red-and-white gingham dress, which looked as seamless in Notting Hill as it would in Provence. With Euro Summer on the horizon, we certainly can’t think of a better approach to dressing than reaching for pieces that would work well across both sides of the channel.
