Every Single Thing Meryl Streep Has Worn on The Devil Wears Prada 2 Press Tour (So Far)
I haven't stopped quoting The Devil Wears Prada in the 20 years since it debuted, so I'm obviously excited to see the highly anticipated sequel on May 1. As much as I'm dying to learn what Andy, Miranda, and Emily get up to onscreen, I'm equally interested in what the cast will wear on the press tour. As of April 2, we're only four days into the promotional circuit, but Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway have already been wearing some killer looks
Her most recent outfit, featuring a "lumpy" blue sweater, is steeped in Miranda lore. To appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Streep wore a custom J.Crew sweater designed in collaboration with her stylist, Micaela Erlanger. “Meryl made cerulean a cultural thesis, so the bar was high," J.Crew Creative Director Olympia Gayot said in a statement. "That monologue is so smart and funny—it reminds you that what feels personal is actually part of a much bigger story, which is why The Devil Wears Prada still resonates. At J.Crew, we’ve been obsessed with color since 1983, so stepping into cerulean—the cerulean—with Micaela was equal parts honor and wink. Cashmere felt right: elevated, a little self-aware. And Meryl makes everything iconic. We just made sure this cerulean lived up to it.”
