10 Fall Outfit Trends It Would Be a Crime Not to Know About

We talk a lot about trends here at Who What Wear. Boot trends, bag trends, denim trends, dress trends, sweater trends—you name it. But something we'd like to point out is that there are outfit trends to think about too. Certain outfit combinations and styling tricks seem to catch on like wildfire among the fashion crowd, and inevitably, everyone else follows suit.

With Fashion Month under our belt, there are tons of outfit trends to spot, and we combed through and chose some of the biggest ones to put on your radar (if they aren't already). These cozy looks are perfect for this time of year, so you could feasibly start wearing them this week. You may not even have to buy anything, but if you do, we've shopped out the key piece you'll need for each, as we do.

Scroll away for a slew of outfit ideas to see you through to winter.

Sweater + Pleated Pants Tucked Into Boots

You might not have predicted this, but it's actually cool to wear a tucked-in sweater and pleated pants tucked into boots now.

Leather on Leather

In case you haven't heard, leather pieces are one of fall's most popular trends, and wearing them (real or faux) together happens to be a simple outfit trend too.

Long Coat + Miniskirt + Animal-Print Knee Boots

Animal-print knee boots are quickly shaping up to be fall and winter's biggest boot trend, and the best way to show them off is with a miniskirt. Just be sure to add a jacket or coat for added warmth.

Sweaterdress + Knee Boots

A sweaterdress paired with knee boots is a luxe and timeless outfit. Pro tip: Cinch the dress at the waist like Eva Chen did here.

Cardigan + Loose Trousers

Cardigans hold a special place in our hearts, so we love that we're seeing so many of them buttoned up and paired with easy, loose trousers.

Tied-Up Trench + Heels

Don't want to be bothered with choosing an outfit? You'll love this one. Just fasten your trench and throw on your favorite heels. Done.

Blazer + Tee + Skinny Jeans + Knee Boots

This outfit is great because most of us already own it, and it's polished enough for work (if jeans are allowed) but chill enough for fall weekend activities.

Oversize Dress + Ankle Boots

Oversize dresses and boots were all over Fashion Month, in every city. Here's some additional proof.

Printed Matching Pant Set

We've noticed that printed suits and matching sets with pants are trending, and we see why: It's an easy way to stand out with very little effort.

Another one you might not have predicted: Long shorts, blazers, and heels are being worn by some of the biggest influencers in the fashion world. Consider them the season's coolest swap for jeans.
