As a fashion editor, around this time every year I get asked by friends, family and colleagues what my tips are for curating the best summer wardrobe. I usually start by directing them to our summer capsule wardrobe articles, but I always add that if there's one thing you can do to make all your warm weather outfits better, it's invest in an incredible pair of sandals.

Now, incredible can cover a lot of bases. It doesn't have to mean a luxury designer pair—you can absolutely find some amazing pairs on the high street. But if you are thinking of investing in your summer footwear this year, and want a pair of sandals that will elevate even your most basic summer looks in an instant, then you've come to the right place.

I'm somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to designer sandals (even if I do say so myself), and I pride myself on keeping up to date every year with the latest and greatest releases. Mostly, I'm concerned with pinpointing the styles that are truly worth investing in; the styles that really will bring you joy to put on summer after summer. And there always seems to be one factor that all my favourite luxury sandal styles have in common: They all feature a chic designer logo.

I know quiet luxury is having a moment, but when you're spending a significant amount of money on a statement accessory, it's likely that you want it to be seen. Trust me, I've done my research (my entire day job is scrolling through chic outfits on Instagram and writing about them) and a designer logo sandal always, without fail, takes an outfit to the next level. Whether it's with your favourite H&M linen trousers and tank top, or a stunning Zimmermann event dress.
