6 Winter Outfit Ideas From Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford
Sure, Kaia Gerber's modeling career is white-hot right now, but let's not forget about Mom. Cindy Crawford continues to serve style inspiration well into her 50s and I have a feeling her streak will continue indefinitely. Another OG supermodel, Christy Turlington, has also been on my radar again lately thanks to several fantastic recent outfits, so I decided to whip up a little guide to dressing like them.
Naturally, both Cindy and Christy are pros at giving us range. They can pull off red-carpet minis just as easily as laidback denim looks—and there's a 10 out of 10 chance I'll want to copy whatever they're wearing. Scroll down to re-create winter outfit ideas courtesy of Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington.
Denim Days
You simply can't go wrong with a half-zip striped sweater, bootcut jeans, and ankle boots. It's the perfect mix of timeless and trendy.
Instead of your go-to denim jacket, why not throw on a blazer with your jeans? It'll add just a bit more polish to your casual 'fit.
Bundled Up
All-black never looked so chic. Photographed in New York City—coffee in hand—Crawford wore fantastic buckled boots with a classic black coat.
Copy Turlington and wear an oversized turtleneck sweater with extra-long, wide-leg trousers.
Party Time
Nothing screams holiday season like a sparkly minidress. I'll be emulating Crawford and wearing mine with black knee-high boots.
Leather-on-leather is always a good choice. Turlington looked sultry in this red-carpet outfit, which included classic black pointy-toe pumps.
Next, underwear-as-pants is taking over Hollywood right now—4 celebs perfecting it.
Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
