7 Chic Outfits Celebs Wore to Jet Into Nice Airport This Week

It’s the moment in the fashion calendar that we look forward to most. Cannes Film Festival is upon us, and we’re ready to relish in the glitz and glamour of the French Rivera once more. As the festival is in its 75th year, we’re expecting to see some mightily impressive red carpet looks from top-tier celebrities, including Anne Hathaway and Kristen Stewart, both of whom have films that are premiering and screening during the festival. If previous years are anything to go by, we’re certainly going to have our fair share of couture gowns to gawp at.

It might surprise you, however, that I simply have no need (nor, sadly, the budget) for custom Atelier Versace and Cartier diamonds. This is precisely why I always like to bring things back to outfits I can replicate. And of all the looks coming out of Cannes, none are quite as imitable as those worn by celebrities as they touch down at Mandelieu Airport.

Celebrity street style is one thing, but celebrity airport arrivals? They’re in a whole league of their own, and the best ensembles always come out of Cannes. We all know assembling the perfect outfit to fly in can be tricky—especially right now when we’re a little out of practise—so I’m taking notes on how the stars are styling themselves for their travels.

Between Julianne Moore’s trousers of choice and the handy cover-ups that ensure you look polished the moment you step onto the tarmac, won’t you join me as we take a closer look at the chicest Cannes Film Festival airport-arrival outfits?

Julianne Moore

Style Notes: We can always count on Moore to raise the sophistication bar higher wherever she goes, and the airport is no exception. Landing in Cannes in a pair of floaty wide-leg trousers, she looks polished and comfortable in equal measure.

Style Notes: It’s always nice to know you have something in common with a celebrity, and it seems that Clemence Botino and I share an affinity for travelling in dresses. Roomy and chic—what more could you ask for?

Key buy:

Rebecca Hall

Style Notes: We Brits are always prepared for temperatures to drop or showers. Hopefully, actress Rebecca Hall won’t have to deal with the latter in the South of France, but she’ll certainly keep that airplane chill at bay thanks to her fluid trench.

Key buy:

Bérénice Bejo

Style Notes: Looking at Bérénice Bejo’s impressive airport ensemble, it’s only now just dawned on me that I’ve been neglecting denim jackets for far too long. While her rhinestone iteration makes for a fashionable take on the classic piece, I’ll be opting for one sans sparkle for my next flight.

Key buy:

Noomi Rapace

Style Notes: If you’re ever in a situation where you need to make your outfit look more elevated in two seconds flat, take your cues from Noomi Rapace and throw on a checked blazer, which she’s used to her advantage to dress up her relaxed jeans and slogan tee.

Key buy:

Didi Stone

Style Notes: When you think of airport co-ords, tracksuits may spring to mind. Not in Didi Stone’s world. To jet to Cannes, the model opted for a silky printed two-piece that’s all kinds of chic.

Key buys:

Adriana Lima

Style Notes: This isn’t your average airport legging outfit—it’s an Adriana Lima legging outfit. The model gave her high-waist pair a glam-over with the addition of a Bardot-neckline top, a shoulder-robed coat, and a pair of strappy heeled sandals.
