6 Chic Outfits Celebrities Wore to Jet Into Nice Airport This Week
It’s the moment in the fashion calendar we look forward to most. Cannes Film Festival is upon us, and we’re ready to relish in the glitz and glamour of the French Rivera once more. Once again, we’ve spotted some mightily impressive red carpet looks from top-tier celebrities.
It might surprise you, however, that I simply have no need (nor, sadly, the budget) for custom Atelier Versace and Cartier diamonds. This is precisely why I always like to bring things back to outfits I can replicate. And of all the looks coming out of Cannes, none are quite as imitable as those worn by celebs as they touch down in Nice. Celebrity street style is one thing, but celebrity airport arrivals? They’re in a whole league of their own, and the best ensembles always come out of Cannes.
We all know that assembling the perfect outfit to fly in can be tricky—especially right now when we’re a little out of practice—so I’m taking notes on how the stars are styling themselves for their travels. Between Rochelle Humes' trousers of choice and the handy cover-ups that ensure you look polished the moment you step onto the tarmac, won’t you join me as we take a closer look at the chicest 2024 Cannes Film Festival airport-arrival outfits?
Maya Jama
Style Notes: Putting a stylish spin on her comfortable look, Maya Jama built a relaxed ensemble that prioritised laid-back tailoring and comfort in equal measures.
SHOP MAYA JAMA'S LOOK:
Every great wardrobe starts with a white tee.
Colourful trainers are having a big moment this summer.
Sabrina Elba
Style Notes: Elegant and comfortable airport attire is all about hard-working layers. Choosing a floor-sweeping trench coat to ensure warmth on these cool summer days, Elba styled her look with a green button-down, a relaxed white tank top, a breezy pair of trousers and comfortable Birkenstock Arizonas.
SHOP SABRINA ELBA'S LOOK:
These relaxed linen trousers are destined to sell out.
Rochelle Humes
Style Notes: Elevating her airport attire with some major summer trends, Rochelle Humes created a red-carpet-worthy look that was comfortable enough to see her through a day of travel. Stretchy but supremely elegant capri pants are really just a shorter version of leggings—and thus ideal for airport attire.
SHOP ROCHELLE HUMES' LOOK:
These elegant mules are a new-season cult buy.
Camille Rowe
Style Notes: Comfortable shoes are a must when moving from a car to a plane and back to a car. Mesh ballet flats are having a moment—and for their lightness, breathability and elegance, I'll be styling them all summer.
SHOP CAMILLE ROWE'S LOOK:
Style with baggy jeans for a laid-back look.
Straight-leg jeans are a wardrobe staple that will never go out of style.
Mesh flats are set to be one of the season's biggest footwear trends.
Neelam Gill
Style Notes: There's no easier way to dress up a relaxed outfit than by throwing over a boxy blazer. Lightweight, easy to take on and off and smart enough to wear to an event straight after your flight; the elegant layer is a travel-day necessity.
SHOP NEELAM GILL'S LOOK:
These comfortable trainers are a city-dweller's favourite.
Yseult
Style Notes: I'll be copying Yseult's cosy travel outfit throughout the rest of the season. Prioritising comfortable staples including a cropped hoodie and baggy jeans, she created a snug ensemble that will keep you relaxed all day long.
SHOP YSEULT'S LOOK:
This cosy hoodie will soon become a mainstay in your daily rotation.
