I Tried on All the Knitted Co-ords From M&S, Zara and Mango—These Are the Best
We've all got overflowing jumper drawers at home, and you might well have a sweater dress collection to be proud of, but the co-ord has come from behind in recent weeks to quickly become the most lust-worthy knitwear look of 2019. We started spotting the cosy two-piece around September as the weather turned cooler and fashion insiders started popping up on Instagram wearing what looked like their weekend hangover-ready, loungewear in public and making it look chic. Now that's a trend we can get on board with.
It may have started with cashmere tracksuits, but as the high street caught on (luckily for us, this is a trend being championed by all our well-known favourites), the knitted ensemble has expanded into skirt, short and wide-leg trouser sets, much to our enjoyment.
The beauty of the co-ord is its simplicity. Like the dress, it has the throw on qualities of an instant outfit. The pairing makes you look immediately put-together and just that more fancy given that you've not opted for the standard chunky-jumper–and-jeans look. The knitted combo also works so well with boots, especially this season's other favourite trend, knee-highs, so it's a no-brainer, really.
It was ASOS's green A-line skirt-and-jumper look (on @_jessicaskye above) that anybody who's anybody was wearing on our feeds this month that solidified the need for a knitted co-ord in our wardrobes immediately. So I was sent on a mission to find the best styles.
Ubiquitous they may be, but after a lot of searching it was clear that Marks and Spencer (unsurprisingly as our knitwear hero), Mango and good ol' Zara had the best variety of options. I tried on so many styles, and these 10 made the cut. Keep scrolling to shop them now.
