Everywhere I Look, People Are Wearing This One High-Street Outfit

Ordinarily, you wouldn’t catch me in a pair of shorts unless I was on the beach. I never considered wearing them to the office, out for drinks—basically, anywhere that doesn’t require sunscreen. Yet I now find myself pining after all the short suits I keep seeing on stylish women everywhere. Crafted in a Miami Vice palette of cream, mauve, beige and cornflower blue, linen textures are proving particularly popular, while silhouettes are slouchy and effortless.
Styling-wise, strappy sandals and muted-hue camisoles are good bets, as are layered necklaces, shoulder bags and statement sunnies. Of course, there are plenty of designer options out there but, after spending copious amounts of time searching the internet for my dream short suit, I found that many of the best styles are available on the high street, with affordable price tags to match. Keep scrolling to see how the masses are wearing them; then proceed to shop the best high-street short suits on offer.
Nnenna Echem gives her beige shirt suit a fresh-looking spin with a white tee, scrappy sandals and a Perspex bag.
Mancunian influencer Megan Ellaby pairs her mauve Marks & Spencer short suit with pastel accessories for maximum standout effect.
Our columnist Monikh Dale gives her short suit a glossy spin with a slinky camisole tope and layered gold necklaces.
Rochelle Humes too sees the appeal of the short suit. Here she wears ASOS's sold-out lime green iteration with sultry lace-up sandals.
Fashion editor Penny adds a spot of colour to her otherwise neutral short suit ensemble with a well-chosen cornflower-blue blouse.
Proving to be a hit with the experts, fashion director Tracey Lea Sayer couldn't resist the appeal of Topshop's oversized co-ord.
