The rumors are true: Condé Nast has confirmed that Anna Wintour is leaving her venerable post at Vogue. She has been editor in chief of the American version of the magazine since 1988, when she made a splash with her first cover that featured a model wearing Guess jeans with an haute couture Christian Lacroix jacket. She has also been the artistic director of Condé Nast since 2013.

In her impressive 30-year career, she's produced countless buzzy covers, including Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's controversial one in 2014. She's also been involved in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, starred in The September Issue documentary in 2009, and was even anointed as a dame by for her contributions to fashion and journalism in 2017. The news comes off the heels of two high-profile Vogue departures: fashion director Tonne Goodman and executive fashion editor Phyllis Posnick, who both stepped down from their roles to become contributing editors. Stay tuned as we learn more about the news.

Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
