I'm Upping My Footwear Game This Season—5 Styles I'm Adding to My Wardrobe Now
As much I love sneakers, realistically, I can't go another week in this blistering heat with my feet encased in leather. The convenience of slipping on a shoe that's practically made for comfort isn't lost on me, which is probably why I've clung to wearing them much longer than I should. In the meantime, I've been in a sandal-shopping craze, literally adding anything cute (and in a size 11) to my cart.
Like the fashion set, I'm all about cushy soles and minimalist silhouettes right now, but I'm also not ready to dive into the deep end and invest in designer pairs. Luckily, I found a few styles that accommodate all of my requirements—each from our very own in-house brand no less. The new Who What Wear Collection has several trendy pairs that look way more expensive than they are, but I've combed through the latest drop to bring you my personal edit of the five styles that are at the top of my list. Scroll ahead to see each of the styles along with some styling inspiration from our favorite fashion girls.
Finally, a comfort-shoe trend that isn't completely "ugly". These are like the luxurious, uptown version of your favorite Birkenstocks and at a pretty decent price point.
Heeled mules are the hill I'll die on; I'm not ashamed. To me, they accomplish that elusive combination of polished, fancy, and comfy, and when it comes to this pair, all of those things especially ring true. The block heel makes walking around a breeze, and just look at that beaded detail! Yes, I've already added these to my shopping cart.
I fervently adhere to the sneaker-and-dress combo, but even I can admit some dresses just require footwear that's way more elevated. I can imagine wearing these strappy sandals with an airy summer dress for a garden party or with distressed jeans for an upgraded take on a casual outfit.
Thick-sole sandals once again! I'm a big fan of the simplistic straps that lie barely there against the skin. These have so much versatility, so I plan on wearing them as my default everyday shoes.
Not gonna lie: I swore off gorp-y shoes like this for a while, but consider me swayed. I've been noticing them styled with tailored pieces, which feels both unexpected and surprisingly cool. I've already mapped out a few outfits in my head with the white pair.
