It might sound crazy, but we called it, and it's totally coming true—a fashion item from circa 1500 is becoming a major trend item. Ladies, we're talking about the corset. Underwear as outerwear has long been a mainstay of the fashion elite, but corsetry and other forms of waist-cinching are making a major comeback. If you don't believe us, just check out our roundup of corset-style looks we started noticing as far back as July, plus looks from Kim Kardashian West and even Gigi Hadid.
The latest style star to hop on this trend train is none other than Hailey Baldwin, who wore a majorly edgy look out in Paris last week. She layered a pastel-pink Balmain corset over a not quite off-the-shoulder top, very reminiscent the styling at Saint Laurent's S/S 17 runway show. This look, once combined with a thick black choker, leather pants, and lace-up utilitarian ankle boots, made for one bold statement. This trend may just now be gaining steam, but we have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot of it in the coming months. We're totally here for it.
