I've Worked at Who What Wear for 10 Years—This Is What I'd Buy Now
Hello, allow me to introduce myself! I’m Kat Collings, Who What Wear’s editor in chief and the creative director of our namesake line, Who What Wear Collection, that launched just last August. I grew up in a really remote area and was desperate to try the latest trends (then, a velour Juicy Couture tracksuit). So I learned to shop online using our family computer at an early age, using my mom’s credit card and paying her back from my job at the local supermarket. My love for digital shopping never dimmed; fast forward a couple decades and here I am ten years into my dream job at Who What Wear. Today, I’m sharing a list of some of my favorite items in my closet as well as picks I’m manifesting into my wardrobe. Spoiler: there’s a lot of Who What Wear Collection, but it’s an accurate reflection of what I’ve wearing and loving now, and who better to recommend the standout pieces from the line than someone who has wear-tested them all? In addition to all the Who What Wear Collection goodness, keep scrolling to discover my other fave, from the affordable bra that passes the WFH test to the necklace I wear every single day.
The knit bralette and cardigan combo has to be one of my favorite looks. It's equal parts sexy and sweet, and with this set on sale, you can get both pieces at a really convincing price. I wear mine constantly because it's that soft. Also, I have a smaller bust, but our fit model Stephanie is a c-cup and the bralette provided decent support for her.
I'm always amazed at how much mileage I get out of this striped shirt. There's something about the green color that feels just a bit interesting. The Wyatt style I'm wearing tends to sell out, so I'd pick it up while it's still in stock.
This sweater has nothing but 5-star reviews. One customer said, "The quality of the sweater is so well done. I’ve had so many compliments!! Love the structure of it, and it’s so cozy and cute."
When It's Time to Be Sporty Spice
The perfect slip skirt is hard to come by, and that's the gap we aimed to fill with the Brianna skirt. A lot of the reviews mention the high quality of the fabric and the silky texture. I personally love that you can wash it at home and skip the dry cleaning bill. I also predict that the chocolate color will be in style for many years to come.
This affordable tank is super stretchy, so it forms to the body nicely, and thick enough that I don't feel like it will get stretched out. I like that it's not cropped like a lot of my tanks, so I can tuck it into a skirt or pants for a more polished look.
Another Hardworking Button-Down
The quality of this knit is off the charts honestly. I love the two-tone look where when it’s stretched, you see the under color of the rib. I love the blueberry color best, but the green kiwi color is fun too. Why not get a fruit salad started?
This bra is WFH-level comfy, which is truly hard to find. After I snapped a pic in it, I wanted to keep it on—strange given I've gone mostly braless for the past two years of my life! I normally wear a 32B bra, and the size small fits perfectly. I like that it has the traditional bra hooks for an adjustable fit but has the comfort of a sports bra. I hope they keep making more styles. Plus they're 2 for $40 right now.
Let's Get Our Trendy Top On
A Timeless-Meets-Cool Necklace
Our herringbone ribbed top is *chefs kiss.* It's sexy, yet somehow work appropriate. I captured the quality in this pic.
Word around the office is that these pants are the crowning achievement of Who What Wear Collection. We initially tried some samples with a vegan leather that didn’t compare to the real thing, and we held out for this super premium faux leather that I swear feels exactly like the brands charging seven times as much. The fit is pretty premium too. Flattering, yet relaxed. They’re on of our best sellers for a reason.
Because We Both Need a Polo Sweater
I don't see myself parting with this scarf...ever? I cannot picture an age where I wouldn't see it as elevated and timeless. I wear it on my head, around my neck, and sometimes even as a cute little scarf top on vacation.
Some Cute Pink Fluff
Don't forget the matching knit pants and oversized cardi.
Yuni Buffa is a newer brand, but definitely one to watch. The designer lists Alexander Wang, Loeffler Randall, and Rag & Bone on her design resume, and this shoe brand is her eponymous debut. Her shoes are made in a family-run atelier in Italy, and honestly the quality is clear the second you lay your eyes on them. They’re also the most comfortable ballet flats I’ve ever worn. It’s actually kind of confusing how they’re just operating on a different level of comfort. The construction was truly considered.
Another shot of them just because.
Alright ya’ll, please meet my everyday necklace by Loren Stewart. If you’re at a place where you can afford it, a fine gold chain necklace will serve you so well. If you wear yours every day like I do, it’s the best cost per wear of anything in your closet. It’s also so nice to know that it won’t get tarnished after a few years, and like many of the items on this list, I can wear it for life.
A Snappy Separates Ensemble
I’ve had my eye on this Ciao Lucia get-up for months. It’s finally on sale, and for occasion-wear like this I generally like to see if I can get somewhat of a discount since I won’t be wearing it as much. How chic of a wedding guest would you be in separates (here's the matching skirt)? All those corona-pushed weddings are going to catch up to us at some point. Pounce before I do!
Next up check out the chic basics our editor is swearing allegiance to this year.
