This Is the New '90s Denim Trend That's Sweeping the Internet

It may be 2018, but the fashion world is taking all its cues from the '90s when it comes to denim trends, from rigid straight-leg styles to cropped flares. But the trend I'm seeing everywhere for fall has nothing to do with cut or fit; it's all about the wash.

While there has been chatter about colored denim coming back in recent seasons, I've stuck to blue and black, as has most of the planet, but I'm always game to try different variations of those washes. The latest to win me over is washed black. This pre-aged not-quite-gray, not-quite-black hue looks vintage in the best way possible and perfectly suits fall's color palette.

Just today, Everlane released an entire collection of its wildly popular (and wildly affordable) denim line in washed black. Re/Done also very recently released some of its best sellers in washed black, and a slew of other cool brands, including Levi's and Agolde, are on board. In other words, until further notice, I'm swapping my blue jeans out for washed black ones. Shop my favorite pairs below.
