These Are Officially the Warmest Fashion Trends of 2020
If you're looking for practical clothing, it's fair to say that the latest fashion trends aren't usually most people's first point of call. They might look the part, but sadly once details such a feather trim, faux fur or soft suede face the elements it's pretty much game over. Yet, in an unexpected turn of events, there has been a handful of trends emerging for 2020 that have proven to be pretty useful when it comes to braving the January chill.
Fancy a duvet day? Well, Arket's puffers essentially allow you to recreate the feeling of snuggling up in bed on your Monday morning commute. Or, if your summer sneakers are soaking up muddy puddles like sponges, reach for a pair of Zara's sturdy combat boots. I would also personally recommend knitted vests, the curveball layering hero which has kept me cosy throughout the winter break—just layer over a colour-match roll neck and jeans. Wrapping up warm never looked so stylish. Scroll down to see and shop my edit of the warmest fashion trends 2020 has to offer.
Duvet Coats
Style Notes: If you always dreamed of heading to work in your duvet, then today's your lucky day, because the duvet coat essentially allows you to do this. Opt for a long-line style to ensure maximum cosiness.

Combat Boots
Style Notes: Thanks to the sellout stylings of Bottega Veneta, the combat boot as seen a resurgence. Practical, sturdy and weather-proof, you won't want to take these babies off all winter.

Chunky Cardigans
Style Notes: Forget any octogenarian associations because the humble cardigan is looking undeniably chic right now. Opt for a chunky finish and layer over roll-necks and dresses.

Knitted Sets
Style Notes: Out of all of this season's trends, you can't get much warmer than the knitted co-ord. Manifesting in everything from cashmere joggers and luxe hoodies to woolen skirts and roll-necks, these pairings were made to be worn with polished accessories, such as knee-high boots.

Sweater Vests
Style Notes: It's fair to say that I've lived in my cream sweater vest this winter as, without fail, it makes any outfit 10 times warmer. I usually wear mine over a cream roll-neck and jeans for laid-back weekend style.

Leather Trousers
Style Notes: Leather trousers aren't the newest offering in our lineup, but they've become an unexpected staple in our wardrobes over the last few years and aren't going anywhere in 2020. They might not look it, but they're some of the warmest trousers I own.
