5 Fall Outfits You Can Create Using Pieces You Already Bought This Summer

As we transition into fall, we're considering what summer buys we can continue to wear into the cooler weather. There are five key pieces we know everyone bought over the past few months, like floral dresses and biker shorts, that definitely don't need to be stored away in the back of our closets any time soon. Here's how to reinvent some of summer's biggest buys for insanely chic (and easy!) fall outfits. Without further ado…

Hero Piece: Button-Down

White button-downs have proven to be quite versatile this summer. We've been wearing them tucked into our favorite denim shorts and open over bikinis at the beach, but they'll be just as useful this fall. Throw a sweater over a classic white button-down, pulling out the sleeves and collar, to achieve an instantly polished and cozy look.

Hero Piece: Printed Maxi Dress

We're breathing new life into floral maxi dresses by layering an oversize blazer on top. Yes, it's really that easy.

Hero Piece: Ribbed Tank

Ribbed tanks were easily the top of summer 2020, and we're not the least bit ready to part with them. We know you all bought at least one, so put it to good use as the weather cools down by throwing on a cozy coat with jeans and boots. If the outerwear is really warm, a sweater won't even be necessary.

Hero Piece: Biker Shorts

Biker shorts have proven to be the comfiest and coolest item in our wardrobes. For fall, style them with an oversize biker jacket, chunky sneakers, and high socks to create a cool off-duty look.

Hero Piece: Denim Mini

It wouldn't be summer without a denim miniskirt, but the piece can be just as practical for fall. A blazer, long-sleeve top, and combat boots make the outfit completely weather appropriate. We'll be adding tights to this look when necessary, too.

Next up, check out the fall boots we're already eyeing.
