4 Snazzy Winter Trends That Are Magnets for Compliments
There's nothing like celebrating the magic of the holiday season. But then, there's the rest of winter to sit through until the sun reappears in the spring. Whether your idea of a good time is getting cozy on the couch with snacks and a new season of your favorite show or hitting the slopes to earn an aprés ski reprieve, there's no wrong way to spend the season. But there are ways to keep it a lot more vibrant.
This year, we're preparing to stave off the winter blues by embracing four timely trends guaranteed to elevate any outfit. We're talking animal-print accessories, cashmere in an array of unexpected colors, comfy corduroy, and sparkly sequin skirts. Add just one to your go-to outfit, and compliments will quickly come your way. Or, if you're already a maximalist dresser, then consider this an opportunity to embrace the "more the merrier" philosophy.
Keep scrolling for outfit inspiration using these fun winter trends. They're playful, occasionally practical, and an easy way to brighten any room this season.
1. Animal-Print Accessories
Hair accessories are another subtle way to integrate animal print into an outfit.
These animal-print mules come in zebra, too.
2. Sequin Skirts
Look for pieces that combine sequins with other fabrics that create an eye-catching texture.
We'd style this incredible red skirt exactly as shown above: in red from head-to-toe.
If you're not quite ready to leave your trusty winter black wardrobe behind, fear not: Black sequined pieces are easy to find.
Channel your inner mermaid (and maybe manifest a beach vacation?) in this gorgeous skirt with sizable shiny sequins.
3. Colorful Cashmere
Reformation's cashmere cardigans are a wardrobe staple year-round, but we love this cherry-red hue for winter.
Double up by draping a brightly colored cashmere scarf over your favorite gray cashmere sweater. There's no such thing as too much cashmere, anyway.
J.Crew's incredible cashmere sweaters com in several great colors, but this neon green is definitely a favorite.
Think cashmere socks are a luxury? We totally agree. Which is why getting them in several fun colors is a very enjoyable indulgence!
If you already have plenty of crewnecks and cardigans, mix things up with a colorful cashmere polo sweater this season.
4. Cool Corduroy
We're obsessed with every piece in Alexa Chung's latest collection for Madewell, especially this corduroy miniskirt.
This shirt jacket looks about four times more expensive than its price tag.
Two things we love: corduroy pants and winter white.
