Lila Moss Just Re-Created Mum Kate's "Naked" Dress Moment From the '90s

With Kate Moss as a mother, Lila Moss was always going to have a solid fashion grounding. The young model, who attended the 2023 Fashion Awards in London this evening alongside her mother, has been making a name for herself in the industry in her own right and has becoming something of a regular on the FROW circuit, too. As such, I like to pay close attention to her outfits. And her latest look definitely made me double take.

As she ascended the stairs, Lila Moss bore a striking resemblance to her mum, and not merely by way of genetics. Standing tall in a sheer pewter slip designed by Nensi Dojaka, it was as if I'd been transported back in time. The look is so strikingly similar to the sheer silver slip dress Kate Moss wore in the '90s—undoubtedly the super's most iconic look to date—it stopped me in my tracks. Sure, Lila's has more detail—the super-thin straps are a Dojaka signature—but the reference point is undeniable.

By contrast, Kate opted for a black long-sleeve dress complete with a plunging neckline and thigh-high split. Although the pair weren't photographed together entering the awards, I do appreciate that they both explored the sheer trend in nuanced and modern ways. Would I have liked to see Kate resurrect her own "naked" dress for the occasion? Of course! But Lila's interpretation of her mother's most recognisable look is sure to garner the attention of a whole new generation.
