Unless you're Serena Williams, chances are you find it hard to pull off a catsuit. Well, NYC-based designer LaQuan Smith has a solution. In February, Smith debuted sheer catsuits during his runway show at NYFW. Now, the designer, who counts Beyoncé and Rihanna among his fans, has launched a capsule collection for Revolve that features catsuit-inspired bike shorts.

"[The bike shorts are] a rendition of the catsuit I just debuted during my fall 2020 runway show this past February," Smith told Who What Wear. "I edited it so the girls could take that daring look and make it more transitional for day and night." Smith also told us about his design process for the other items in the eight-piece capsule. "The pieces were inspired by nightlife and summer fun festivities," he told us. "The capsule has an array of my favorite pieces from past collections, edited to make sense if she is withstanding all-day partying in the summer heat. I wanted something cool and unapologetically sexy that she would be noticed in." Scroll down to shop LaQuan Smith's new capsule collection.

Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
