Katie Holmes Just Proved This Is the Perfect Shoe to Wear With Jeans
Every year, as February rolls around, I find myself growing increasingly tired of my own boot collection. From November onwards, boots become the staple of choice, and after three months exclusively in them, it's safe to say I'm about ready for a change.
While sneakers are a worthy second option, this year, celebrities are offering alternative inspiration if you, too, are ready to kick your boots to the kerb. From Hailey Bieber to Katie Holmes, this February, stylish women are switching out their chunky-soled ankle boots in favour of classic loafers.
Now before you start asking how you're expected to keep warm in sub-zero temperatures while wearing ankle-baring footwear, rest assured celebs have that problem covered, too. Holmes has been spotted on the street of New York, pairing her chunky loafers alongside long socks in shades of navy, cream, and grey. It's not a look I'd usually advocate for, but (somewhat unsurprisingly) Holmes is making it work.
As far as the remainder of her outfit goes, Holmes is sticking to her usual rotation of straight-leg jeans and tailored coats, meaning many of her looks are exceedingly easy to re-create. Classic outfits that still manage to look fresh? This is exactly why we love you, Katie. Keep scrolling to see Holmes's recent loafer looks and shop the shoe style below.
Style Notes: A classic look if ever there was one, here, Holmes pairs a tailored black coat alongside straight-leg jeans, socks, and Gucci Horsebit Loafers.
Style Notes: Embracing the puffer-coat trend, Holmes opts for a Mango coat paired with chunky loafers by Vagabond (you can shop the exact style below) and blue straight-leg jeans.
Style Notes: For a casual stroll, Holmes again was spotted in Vagabond's chunky loafers, but this time, she paired the shoes with a statement coat.
Style Notes: Another chic loafer look. Here, Holmes wears blue jeans and a double-breasted navy coat.
Style Notes: Never one to shy away from trying new things, on this day, Holmes chose to wear a pair of wide-leg jeans alongside her trusted chunky loafers and navy coat.
Style Notes: Another Holmes classic. Blue jeans, a navy shirt, and her Gucci loafers, this time without socks. (Yes, I'm also wondering whether or not her feet are freezing.)
