6 Jewelry Trends Every Fashion Insider Will Wear in 2020

Ready for a brand-new set of jewelry trends to work into your wardrobe? Same. The S/S 20 shows have come to a close, but I can’t stop thinking about the new jewelry pieces that were styled on the runways. Many of them are destined to be huge this year, and there are some major trends that will be bubbling up during 2020.

From the new take on hoop earrings spotted at Proenza Schouler and Versace to the metal Brandon Maxwell and Gucci embraced that is set to be everywhere to the statement necklace trend we saw at Bottega Veneta and Chanel, these are the six biggest spring jewelry trends, period. Want to be an early adopter? Go on to see and shop our edit of pieces to start wearing right now.

1. Supersize hoops

Hoops aren't a new trend, but for spring they have been supersized. The new XXL proportions were paired with everything from power suiting to LBDs and are intended to go with just about anything.

2. Big chains

Statement-jewelry lovers, here's another one for you. Chain-link necklaces were also spotted on the runways in pumped-up sizes, whether paired with open-front silhouettes or layered over crew-necks.

3. Silver

We've been predicting the rise of silver jewelry, and the runways are providing even more evidence that the metal will be gaining traction in the coming months.

4. Solo earring

Instead of matching earrings, designers sent models down the runways with just one. At Prabal Gurung and JW Anderson, we saw crystal styles that cascaded past the shoulder, and at Valentino, there were ornate gold versions.

5. Nouveau pearls

Pearls have been a popular trend for several seasons now, but for spring, they were reinvented with new designs. From mismatched earrings at Jason Wu to headpieces at Khaite to knotted necklaces at Miu Miu, there are plenty of fresh ways to wear pearls in 2020.

6. Bold color

If you're looking to add color to a look, start with jewelry. We saw plenty of saturated hues on the runways, which will no doubt be popular among the fashion set.
