The Bag With a Secret Waiting List Just Got Even Even More Hype

Uruguayan-born, New York–based designer Gabriela Hearst just won herself the U.S. Woolmark womenswear prize for her collection, which is pretty impressive, considering she's been in business for just over a year. Hearst's ready-to-wear pieces draw inspiration from her native country, where she produces some of her line's signature slouchy knits and woven separates.

While her fashion brand is gaining traction at lightning speed, her Nina bag is about to get even more popular. You may have heard about the under-the-radar bag, which had a limited run and was pretty much only available to those who know her, including actress Brie Larson. Earlier this year, Hearst told Vogue that the adorably compact bag was inspired by her love of Colombian artist Fernando Botero and that once Oscar winner Larson was spotted with it, everyone wanted to get their hands on the leather accessory.

However, the designer told retailers that they were not for sale, since at the time she only made about 20, but if individuals wanted the black or cognac bag, they'd have to email to get on the 100-person-long waiting list. At $1995, it's definitely a splurge, but from the looks of it, shoppers are willing to shell out big bucks for the calf-leather It bag.
