Like it or not, November is here, and cold weather is coming. Before the holiday shopping frenzy begins, I like to take stock of my winter wardrobe and shop for pieces I need before they sell out (which Black Friday tends to make happen). I also like to think ahead to what trips I have booked for the season and order pieces that I know will come in handy when packing for those. For the most part, winter basics are what I recommend buying in November—pieces that you'll reach for over and over that will make every outfit they're a part of significantly chicer. Cashmere Sweater
The closer we get to the holidays, the faster the cashmere sweaters sell out. Don't let your favorites slip away—order them now.
Checked Scarf
Celebrities are suddenly all about the big scarf, Sabrina Carpenter included. Checks are very much in for fall and winter, so my advice is to choose a big checked scarf to make your outerwear look significantly chicer.
Oversize Coat
When it comes to winter outerwear, I'm team oversize coat. I need to be able to fit a sweater under my coat and maybe even a blazer. The time to secure your new coat is now. It's getting cold out there.
Slim-Fit Jeans
Truth be told, I'm not typically into slim-fitting jeans, but in the winter, it's a different story, as they're the most polished style to wear with oversize coats and sweaters—hands down.
Ugg Shoes
As you probably know, the buzziest Ugg shoes each season sell out by December, so do yourself a favor and add your favorite pair to your collection now.
Long-Sleeve Layering Top
Layering tops may be a boring afterthought, but your future self will thank you for ordering a few now.
Faux-Fur Jacket
The easiest road to fancy fall and winter outfits is a faux-fur coat. People have already started wearing them, so don't be left in the dust.
Tights
I don't know about you, but I just took stock of my tights collection, and there was much to be desired. After throwing out all of the snagged ones, I'm ordering versions in the colors I know I'll wear the most (black, chocolate brown, and gray).
Elevated Sweats
Cozy season calls for fresh sweats. This November, I'll be prioritizing ones that I can also wear outside for errands and such without feeling like I just rolled out of bed.
Suede Heels
I wear heels a lot in the winter, and I find that suede makes my outfits look expensive and elegant. Now is the time to find a fresh pair, as holiday-season events are on the horizon.
